Where to buy trading cards in Tokyo
Tokyo has more card shops than anywhere else in Japan, but they cluster in a few neighborhoods. Pick one or two areas and you can visit a dozen shops in an afternoon.
Akihabara
The center of card shopping in Japan. Our map lists over 50 card shops within about 600 m of Akihabara Station, many on upper floors of buildings along Chuo-dori and around the station. Large chains such as Hareruya 2, Card Rush, Yellow Submarine and Card Labo sit next to small specialist shops, so compare prices before you buy. Hareruya 2's Akihabara Tower store fills a whole building with Pokémon cards.

Ikebukuro
The second-biggest cluster, between the east exit of Ikebukuro Station and Sunshine City. Sunshine City has both Pokémon Center Mega Tokyo, with a Pokémon Card Station, and a ONE PIECE Card Game official shop.

Takadanobaba
A student area with large tournament centers and play spaces, including Hareruya's Tournament Center Tokyo and Hareruya 2 and Hareruya 3 stores. Good if you want to see how people play in Japan.

Shibuya and Shinjuku
Pokémon Center Shibuya is in Shibuya PARCO, and there are ONE PIECE Card Game official shops in both Shibuya and Shinjuku (Kabukicho). Each area also has several card shops near the station.
Other official stores
- Pokémon Center Tokyo DX in Nihonbashi Takashimaya, a short walk from Tokyo Station.
- Pokémon Center Skytree Town in Tokyo Solamachi at the foot of Tokyo Skytree.
- Pokémon Center Tokyo-Bay in LaLaport Tokyo-Bay in Funabashi (Chiba), with a Pokémon Card Station.
Tips
- Many card shops open around 11:00 or later, and some only in the afternoon on weekdays. Check the hours on the map before you go.
- Weekends are busy, especially in Akihabara and Ikebukuro. Weekday afternoons are calmer.
